Welcome!

Are you on the struggle bus and just can't seem to find your way? I help clients find their way by processing through anxiety, grief, or simply untangling emotions. My approach is person centered counseling and I believe in joining clients on their journey towards healing. I specialize in offering a non-judgmental space that offers support and guidance to allow the client to process thoughts and emotions. I firmly believe that a good therapist should listen far more than they talk. Getting started on your therapeutic path can seem daunting! But, the first step is simply reaching out to set an appointment. Know that my clients are my priority and your healing is my passion. I will bring a sense of calm to your life along with a good dose of humor. Let's work together to help you make the changes you desire. Currently supervised by Vikki Sears, LPC-S.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I am a former high school counselor with 23 years experience working with teens and their families. This has given me extensive experience in grief, crisis management, trauma informed counseling, and panic disorders.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

My undergraduate degree is in Animal Science from Tarleton State University and my masters degree and additional doctorate level work is from Sam Houston State University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Vikki Sears, LPC-S.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

I compete in dog shows! That gives me a unique perspective on what it's like to compete, imagine trying to compete and you have to control your dog at the same time!

WHAT IS A LPC- ASSOCIATE?

An LPC-Associate is a counseling professional who has completed a master's degree in counseling or a related field from an accredited program and has passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE), but is still in the process of completing the required supervised clinical experience hours to become a fully licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. Under the regulations of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, LPC-Associates work under the supervision of a board-approved LPC-Supervisor while accumulating the necessary 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience. During this time, they can provide counseling services in various settings such as mental health clinics, private practices, or community organizations. LPC-Associates often specialize in areas like individual counseling, couples therapy, or substance abuse treatment, gaining valuable hands-on experience while working towards full LPC licensure
